Terms & Conditions

If you've reached this page, we want to thank you as you are either someone interested in booking a table with us or you already have a booking or event planned with us. Of course, we want to make sure you have the best possible experience with us, but we have a couple of terms and conditions that we recommend you read through to check there are no undesired surprises further down the line. 

  • We recommend making a booking with us to avoid disappointment and we kindly ask only to make one reservation (per person/group) with us to allow everyone the chance to join us. We do allow for walk-ins when we have spaces available, but at busy times we will turn people away when at capacity.

    We have a strict 15 minute booking hold time, after which, if no contact has been made, we will give the table away and claim no-show fee.

    Please do note that we have pre-authorised your card for your booking and the agreed cancellation fee will apply in the event of a no show or late cancellation. We do require 24 hours’ notice in writing from the booking date and time for any cancellations. Please note that if you do cancel after this time or do not show up for your booking, your card will be charged a £10 per head cancellation fee. Any pre-payments made are NON-REFUNDABLE in the event of a no show or cancellation and offers cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotions.

    Bookings are allocated in 2-hour sittings unless agreed/selected otherwise with food and drinks served everywhere. All bookings are subject to minimum spend of £15 per person per hour. If the minimum spend in not reached the management has the right to ask you to vacate the table and premises before your booked due out time.

    We are unable to allow any underage persons (under 18 years old) in the venue. We require you to bring along physical form of ID as it will be checked before allowing entry and we do work with the CHALLENGE 25 policy. Management reserves the right to refuse entry or service including any intoxicated guests. No refunds will be given to any bookings with pre-purchased drinks or paid deposit that has been refused entry. Opium operates a bag search policy, and our team will confiscate any liquids or food if found as we don’t allow any externally purchased food or drinks to be brought and consumed within our premises. To ensure the experience is enjoyable for all guests in our parlour, we do not allow party decorations or balloons.

    If you request to cancel your booking/private hire at Opium because one (but not limited to) of the following reasons:

    + guest or guests issues linked to Covid-19, unless there is a local/national lockdown,

    + transport strikes, local or national,

    Opium’s Terms & Conditions continue to apply in their entirety.

    Please note that any deposits or pre-payments claimed/retained due to breach of our Terms & Conditions cannot be carried forward and used as a credit for future bookings/private hires.

    Please ensure that all your guests are aware of what name your booking is made under, our door policies, dress code and age restrictions. Our dress code is smart casual. Please, no flip flops, sandals, fancy dress, sports attire, track suits, sports or gym shorts when joining us although, trainers are acceptable.

    There will be an optional 12.5% service charge added to your bill.

    Although all care is taken, Opium’s management will not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to a guest’s property, including hired equipment, gifts or personal goods left prior, during or after a reservation/events, unless caused by act or omission of Opium.

    The management have the right to change the Terms and Conditions at any time, with not less than 48 hours written notice.

    Please do let us know latest, by 4pm on the day of the booking if you need to make any changes to your booking, including final booking numbers and change to your timings which will be subject to availability. Seating is offered to all our guests (unless stated otherwise) and we will not be able to accommodate any additional guests without prior notice.

    If the venue were to close due to an unexpected reason on the date of your booking, we would move your booking to a different date.

  • Please note that we operate the following dress code policy: Smart casual. Please, no flip flops, sandals, fancy dress, sports attire, track suits, sports or gym shorts when joining us although, trainers are acceptable.

  • Private hire of any of our bars is subject to a minimum spend (plus 12.5% service charge) and payment of the deposit (or pre-authorisation of a card for the agreed amount) will confirm acceptance of Opium’s Terms & Conditions in its entirety.

    Minimum Spend

    The space you've booked carries a minimum spend as agreed with the events team plus 12.5% service charge. We will collect 50% of this amount to secure the booking. All food and drink purchases on the night imbibed by your group will contribute to this minimum spend. We will ask for pre-authorisation of the balance/outstanding amount. Deposit will be deducted from the final bill unless agreed otherwise and we do accept only one payment for the final bill. Kindly note that we are not able to accept individual payments from your guests. Please note that should the minimum spend not be reached the shortfall in spend will be retained by Opium from the pre-authorised balance/outstanding amount. Any damage to the property and/or food and drinks not paid for (not listed on the final bill) will be claimed from the pre-authorised balance/outstanding amount. You will be notified in writing prior processing any deductions. Any payments made (deposit, pre-payment for food, drinks, etc…) are non-refundable and offers cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers or promotions.

    Cancellation Policy

    We require at least 2 weeks` notice in writing for any cancellations to your booking and 48 hours for any changes. If you cancel after this time or do not show up for your booking on the evening on time, the full deposit any pre-payments will be retained. We hold your reserved area for a maximum of 30 minutes. Please do inform us of any lateness and we will try and hold your booking for you however, if contact is not made within 30 minutes, we will we treat this as a no show and the deposit including any pre-payments will be retained.

    Other

    We do not print out or store your card details.

  • If you’ve purchased a ticket to one of our events, please check carefully the Terms and conditions on the ticket before you arrive.

    We prohibit any onwards ticket resales without prior authorization from our management team.

    We don’t offer any ticket refunds unless the event is cancelled.

    In the case of a no-show, a ticket refund will not be issued.
