Adorned with Chinese medicinal bottles and themed interior, Apothecary Bar is the perfect backdrop for a festive speakeasy style soiree this Christmas.
Located on the second floor at Opium and together with Peony bar, can accommodate up to 60 guests seated or standing. The room is elongated in shape and the main bar splits the floor into two areas. To the far left we have an area with higher, stool type seating and to the right, our “Tea Parlour” section with lower, dining style tables and chairs.
Apothecary Bar is available for private hires and drinks receptions this festive season, and can be hired only in conjunction with Peony Bar, giving you access to the entire 2nd floor.

Peony bar is Opium’s hidden gem of a speakeasy bar, nestled within our labyrinthine of corridors, behind the red curtain on the second floor.
Providing the perfect setting for festive get togethers this social season. Peony Bar has a very different feel to the rest of the venue – it’s the Yang to Opium’s Ying and is often considered the most ambient room in the building. Despite being the smallest of all three bars, it’s a great self-contained space for private parties up to 30 guests.
Served by your own bartender and warmly looked after for the duration of your stay with us, exclusive hire of Peony bar this festive season includes full waiting staff/bartenders and access to the sound system.

Attic & Academy Bar

Tucked away at the top of our parlour of award-winning bars, Attic & Academy Bar makes for the perfect private space for a Christmas social this festive season.
Located on the top floor at Opium and accommodating up to 50 guests seated or standing, one half of the floor is set as an authentic Chinese family lounge area (The Attic), a chic, parlour style room with quirky booths, comfy armchairs and lower “coffee” type tables.
The second half is Academy Bar, set as a comfortable carriage full of higher tables and stools leading to our innovative Bartender’s Table, an open-kitchen style bar where you can watch the cocktail making process by our mixologists up close.
Exclusive hire of the Academy bar includes full waiting staff/bartenders and access to the sound system.
